Question from a Member:

I am looking into the use of data loggers in an attempt to find leaks that are not surfacing or are very small and thereby reduce non-revenue water.

I am wondering if anyone uses data loggers, has any experience with data loggers or could recommend a brand name data logger.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you, Fred

Mr. Biring, We use a Dickson pressure data logger purchased from USA Blue Book. Easy to use, we have used it for 5 years. Only issue was finding a battery for it. You won't find one at Wal-mart. It will record for a week taking readings every 10 seconds. We have used it for various reasons. We are currently trying to identify a leak issue for one of our wholesale customers with data obtained by the instrument. I don't expect it to answer all the questions but it does provide helpful data. If you need any other information, feel free to call me at 618-513-0635. By the way, good job with the grade school presentation. I did this for 12 years back in Carthage Missouri. Very enjoyable and always interesting to see the way those young minds think.
