Turbidity Measurement: Just the Facts WEBINAR
WEBINAR TYPE: Technical Webinar
Credit hours for water operators & engineers: 1.00
Total Hours: 1.00
LIVE DATE: 03/08/13
SUMMARY: While clarity of water has been used to judge the quality of water for thousands of years, the modern turbidimeter (nephelometer) is a tool barely 60 years old. Many questions still exist as to the measurement, instrument calibration and interferences for this important water quality parameter. This presentation will review on the technical aspects of the measurement but the emphasis will be on addressing common interferences such as dissolved gasses, color and light absorbing particles, how to achieve best agreement between laboratory and on-line measurements and finally, the importance of calibration.
