SUMMARY:Whether you monitor your water facility’s fluoride dosage in pounds, gallons, or inches we’ll discuss how to calculate Fluoride concentrations in ppm. We’ll discuss why there is a difference in the calculations between Hydrofluorosilicic Acid (aka…HFS or Silly Acid) and Sodium Fluoride and common reporting mistakes made.
PRESENTER: Kathy Rodgers, B.S. Chemistry, MBA Candidate
After graduating with a B.S. in Chemistry from Southern Illinois University in 2005, Kathy Rodgers worked as a chemist and water quality technician for a public utility in North Carolina. She gained her practical hands on experience working in the largest and most rapidly developing distribution system in the state. Later on, Rodgers accepted a position with Illinois Rural Water Association as their Source Water Specialist. There she was able to assist water operators mitigate reporting errors and optimize data entry efficiency. She is currently working on her MBA while helping to establish electronic compliance reporting in the State of Illinois.
