Target-based Security: Why Critical Infrastructure Needs Stronger Protection

Live Date: 06/02/14

WEBINAR TYPE:
Technical.
IEPA#: 7959

Summary: The world of "one size fits all" no longer has a place in the protection of critical infrastructure. We must move beyond the deployment of standard Information Technology solutions. In many IT deployments - even for security - a standard solution is proposed because "Standard is better than best.” While at a corporate scale encompassing hundreds of thousands of devices this concept has merit, when it comes to protecting our critical infrastructure, we need best of breed solutions. This session will explore the history of standard IT-style security solutions, examine innovative critical infrastructure security solutions, and propose a methodology of tailoring the cybersecurity solution to the system it is protecting based on the system itself in combination with its status as a target.
