Summary: An overview of LinkedIn and its uses will be covered, followed by a deeper dive into the different components. LinkedIn is NOT just for looking for a new job or new employees and we will do our best to convince you of that! We will cover how to create and maintain the different aspects of your professional profile and control how people find you, how to build your professional network using good “nettiquite,” connecting with people your industry and geographic area, learning to leverage LinkedIn Groups to learn and grow, sharing your knowledge with posts, likes, and updates, as well as how LinkedIn can be a great tool for your career search and overall growth. We will also briefly review what it takes to stay in control of your privacy and account settings without fear.
Presenter: Chris Sosnowski -Chris received his B.S in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and his M.S. in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin in Madison with an emphasis on water & biological wastewater treatment. He has been recognized both locally and nationally for his knowledge on water/wastewater-centric technology, actively pursues teaching opportunities, and has presented over thirty times on municipal-specific SCADA and other technology applications. Chris is the President and co-founder of B&W Control Systems Integration, a wholly owned technology consulting and integration subsidiary of Baxter & Woodman, Inc., where Chris also serves as a Vice President. He is an active member of the American Water Works Association and the Water Environment Federation, as well as local operations groups.
